People Counter

Requirement:

The client wanted to track and analyze footfall in specific rooms using their existing hardware setup, which includes the Milesight People Counter VS132. The goal was to visualize this data in a user-friendly web dashboard to better understand room usage patterns. Their LoRaWAN-based infrastructure included a Milesight LoRaWAN gateway, and they required a seamless integration of the sensor data into a central platform for real-time and historical insights.

Solution

We integrated the Milesight People Counter VS132 with Sensor Vision, our custom-built IoT platform developed using the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js). The client’s Milesight LoRaWAN gateway was first registered with The Things Network (TTN) by configuring its Device EUI and Gateway ID. Once the data uplinks were established in TTN, we created a webhook integration pointing to Sensor Vision’s API endpoint. This allowed the real-time people counter data to be streamed from TTN to our platform. Sensor Vision then processed and displayed the data through a secure dashboard, offering visualizations like real-time occupancy counts, daily summaries, and room-wise trends.
